Background
Target Background: |
Abatacept, also known as Orencia, is a medication utilized for the treatment of autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. By interfering with the immune activity of T cells, Abatacept helps in managing these conditions. It is a fusion protein that combines the extracellular domain of CTLA-4 with the Fc region of the immunoglobulin IgG1. Abatacept is a medication that is utilized as a second-line treatment for adults with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA). For individuals whose RA is severe and rapidly progressing, it can be used as a first-line treatment. Furthermore, Abatacept is also prescribed for the treatment of psoriatic arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis. |
